Buy the chain with the butterfly earring back attached for ease of use. Or buy with the butterfly back unattached for more versatility to hang with other earring styles...

Attached

Means that your earring chain MUST be attached at the back (like photo 1)

Unattached 

Means you can wear the same as the attached, AND you can also hang your earring chain from different style earrings on the one ear... (see last photo for example of how it can be worn). While a more versatile option, with a separate earring back, it is a little trickier to hook on at the back.
