Did you ever browse a market and find a perfect ring... One of those 'one of a kind, just something about it' rings only to find it wont even fit your pinky finger? No? Well, I have!! I always wanted to be able to make my own jewellery (and also my own clothes, but that's another story involving many handmade "flares" from 1999... enough said about that) That desire to create my own specific piece always stayed with me and I want you to be able to design your own piece too.

Enter these six stunning unique Tibetan Turquoise Stones...

(Turquoise is the birthstone of December- well, it is, if you ask the right person!)

Tibetan Turquoise

Tibetan Turquoise is called such, not necessarily because it was mined there but because it was revered as a symbol of the sky by native Tibetan cultures and was used for trading for hundreds of years and is often still sourced there. Traditionally turquoise beads were given to children, as it was believed to keep them from falling.

Ranging from lighter blues to deep green, this turquoise is generally threaded with dark matrix, giving it a 'spiderweb' appearance.

These particular Turquoise used to be traditional beads, but they have been repurposed to become cabachon stones (cabachon basically just means that they are flat at the bottom) perfect for setting in a unique ring. Their exact age is unknown. Conservative estimate for old trade beads is 300-500 years, but some may be older than 500 years given that the beads were used in trading since around 1000 B.C.

Styling Your Ring

As a maker, I am quite fond of odd shapes and uneven settings, so each stone that I come to work with will get their own individual setting shape. Whatever feels right for it. There is no exact template. Only a style that feels right in the moment, but if you look at the two sample photos, you will get a feel for how your new ring will look.

When you are picking your stone think about what shape you like and if it it is oval think about whether you would prefer it to be vertical or horizontal on your finger.

What You Need to Do

Select your unique turquoise stone from the drop down menu.

In the comment box, write your ring size...

...and also if you have any other requirements e.g. ; vertical / horizontal, if it is an oval shape.

(If you require it in 9ct gold (for an extra cost), get in touch with me and I'll give you a quote!)

VOILA!!

Quality Assurance

Each piece is hallmarked at the Assay Office in Dublin Castle, giving you quality assurance of your silver or gold ring.
