This handcrafted ring was designed, hand cut and soldered together piece by piece using recycled 9ct gold in Co. Clare in the West of Ireland. The ring has been hallmarked in the centuries old Dublin Castle Assay office for quality assurance.
This grey sapphire is much more than the colour grey. It has tones of blue, flecks of paler grey and the subtlest hints of purple throughout (although the purple has been debated, I definitely see it!) The gold setting it sits in has been crafted around the stone. I like the more organic looking setting and so I strive to always create something unique that both fits and compliments the gemstone but also retains its own character. It's not all about the gem, for me the frame it sits in, is just as important.
The sapphire measures 1cm in diameter, and the setting sits securely on a gold comfort fit 2.3mm band that is a comfortable UK size 'O'.
I have only a small few of these particular sapphires which can be set in either eco silver or recycled gold (always hallmarked in Dublin Castle) so if you would like to order one like this in silver or in a different size or style, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Please note while my style of stone setting is quite specific, I don't work from templates or from castings, I take each piece as it comes and build it accordingly, so no two will ever be exactly the same. Something I love about my work but I understand it's not for everyone.
