5 different ruby's, all waiting to be made into beautiful unique rings. You pick your favourite one, tell me your exact size and specifications and I'll make it for you using eco silver in my little studio in West Clare.
Rubies and sapphires (rubies are basically red sapphires) both come from the corundum family and boast a 9 on the Mohs scale for hardness, second only to diamond. The stone of love, passion, energy and power, the ruby is said to stimulate the heart chakra, bringing balance and calm. It is also associated with healing of the heart and circulatory system. It is the birthstone of July and a ruby wedding anniversary is celebrated at 40 years!
Styling Your Ring
As a maker, I am quite fond of odd shapes and uneven settings, so each stone that I come to work with will get their own individual setting shape. Whatever feels right for it. There is no exact template. Only a style that feels right in the moment, but if you look at the two sample photos, you will get a feel for how your new ring will look.
When you are picking your stone think about what shape you like and if it it is oval think about whether you would prefer it to be vertical or horizontal on your finger.
